Carlie and Doug

Doug and Carlie by Lisa Smart

BRAVO! This is a book that you can be proud to read. I loved the southern ways as I have lived in the past in Arkansas. I loved that this was a nice "CLEAN" romance as I feel to be honest that many people pretty much do live that way and this is a book you can definitely share with your teenagers and also like me,  the women that really don't want to read about everybody hopping in bed as that isn't romance at all can have a "REAL GOOD" romance to read and have that snuggle up on the couch and drink a cup of coffee read. The book was humorous and fun. Carlie is 32 working at the dollar general and meets Doug 8 hours away. So believable in today's world as I have hmmm ... at least a dozen or so nephews all marriageable age on the loose! My generation (I'm 51)  ...got married at 17 or 18 but our children are getting married in their late 20's- 40's ...so the book shows the life of a typical 32 woman with strong views and personality and yes, the crying ... these single people really do need someone to snuggle up with at night once they are married who really love them for a lifetime.. but until then they can be quite weepy!..so yep, the crying in this book was a great add ! .. I wanted to share some personal thoughts in the review because I think the book is a 5 star for today's real women that want a good read and these are points to consider. Funny, smart, well written, and captures real women.. the bonus for me was the Christian faith parts... which I loved these parts but I understand, that there are many that choose not to accept Christ and you will love this book too because Lisa Smart wrote the book with a southern flair and honestly most real Christians aren't pushing it down your nose 24/7 so it's just like a normal talk you'd have with anyone. Great book and a MUST READ I had not read a book by Lisa Smart before and I would love to see more and there are more just go to amazon.com
